After the long wait, Arriba Fotograpia, composed of employees of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, was formed to have an alternative venue for  training, highlight hidden skills of photo enthusiasts and simply just a club for members with common interests.

Initially a brainchild of selected employees after a training session under Meo Remalante, the new photo club was made possible thru the hobbies club launched by the Human Resource Department headed by Eloisa Labrador-Dulay.

Dulay tapped the support of Albeth Cuenca, assistant director of the Media Center who helped lay out both structure and content of the new club.

Institute of Communication special lecturer Meo Remalante signs in as the official adviser. Remalante brings with him over four  decades of photo experience as art and creative director of McCann Erickson agency.

Kathleen Magno, Collegiate laboratory technician said, she joined the photo club even though she has no DSLR camera yet since she wants to be taught how to photograph babies, a subject she intends to focus on. 

Dr. Nancy Balasan, who was part of the selected employees who pushed the forming of the club, shared her desire to capture memories as her reason for joining.  

Propelled by the excitement of the members of Arriba Fotograpia, a new set of officers has been elected headed by Mario Fernandez, Finance director, as president; Albert Rosarda, prefect of disciple Basic Education as Vice President; Dr. Ma. Nancy Balasan, CBAA faculty as secretary; Arturo Ablao, human resource timekeeper as treasurer; Rowena Capulong Reyes, director, Media Center and iCOMM as P.R.O.; and Randy Castillo, director ITC and Planning and Development as business manager. With the formal setting up of the photo club, future projects including series of seminars, exhibits and field trips are in the offing. The club aims to be active in photo coverage’s of the Colegio’s annual activities.

To date, a logo has already been designed by Arriba member Jan Dizon for their t-shirt together with a new website, www.arribafotograpia.com
