Sernan August Serra wowed Dubai by bagging the Best in Radio Feature for the Philippines, second year in a row, for their group project Macho Radyo at the recently concluded Ibda’a Student Awards held in Dubai Media City, Dubai UAE,  last November 20,2009. 

Serra represented his production team composed of Alexander B. Punzalan, Bernardo M. Montiero, Jr., Jazelyn R. Rosende, Joseph Nathaniel G.Lopez, Louise Monique U. Soriano, Jenny B. Canales and Rin Arai, all junior Communication Arts students. 

The back-to-back win  came with an all expense paid trip, and attractive prizes including an internship contract from a leading global media organization in Dubai. 

Team Dynamite Fishing in the Philippines led by Al Kendrick L. Noguera, also made it as one of the finalists.  Rey Christopher D. Querido and Jocel E. Felarco composed team Dynamite. 

Both Serra and Noguera are the only two representatives of the Philippines after narrowing the five shortlisted Philippine entries all coming from Colegio de San Juan de Letran. 

Serra joins Robert Leeroy Lim ,who won  Best in Radio Feature  in Ibda’a  Student Awards in 2008, in the best in the world league.  

An elite panel of judges from the International Advertising Association honored the winners of 12 categories from over 2,400 submissions from over 20 countries including first time entries from China, Libya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore and Thailand.
